This program is designed for students who have obtained their bachelor's degree in science, commerce, arts or management and wish to build a professional career in Information Technology. The courses have been carefully designed to take the student through basic concepts to current practices in industry, and hands-on laboratory experience is emphasized at every stage of the program. This program aims at producing software developers to meet the ever-changing requirements of the global IT industry.
Candidates for admission will be selected through an Entrance Test of the Institute. The test will be of one and half hour duration. The test will evaluate the candidates on their mathematical aptitude, logical reasoning, basic programming, English and general awareness of Information technology. Final merit list for admission will be prepared based on the performance of the Entrance Test only.

Syllabus:
Mathematics (10+2 standard): Algebra-Fundamental operations in Algebra, Expansion, Factorization, Simultaneous Linear/Quadratic equations, Logarithms, Arithmetic, Geometric and Harmonic progressions, Binomial theorem; Basic Discrete Mathematics- Functions, Sets and Relations, Permutations and Combinations, Mathematical Induction, Basic Probability;
Calculus- Limits, Differentiation, and Simple examples of Maxima and Minima.
Quantitative Aptitude and Logical Reasoning: Questions drawn from Math upto 10th standard and logical reasoning.
C Programming: Programming in C: Basic Data Types, Language Control Structures, Arrays, Functions, Pointers, Dynamic Allocation of Memory, Structs, Recursion, Parameter passing and Scope.
English Verbal Ability: Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary (Synonyms and Antonyms, Fill in the blanks, Sentence correction etc.)
A graduate with a minimum of 60% marks in their qualifying degree examination may apply. Candidates appearing in their final degree examination and expecting to complete it by July 2013 may also apply subject to the condition that they obtain the 60% cumulative record after final examination and submit the provisional degree certificate or any other proof of the completion of degree certificate before 30 October 2013 to the Institute. The students must have at least three courses of Mathematics, Statistics or Computer science in their undergraduate curriculum.

At the time of admission an amount of Rs. 30,000/- (Rs. 25,000/- towards Tuition Fee for the First Semester and Rs. 5,000/- towards Caution Deposit) is to be paid by the candidates through a bank draft drawn in favour of " DA-IICT", payable at Ahmedabad.

Fees are charged semester-wise, at the registration of each semester. The Institute reserves the right to revise the fee and payment structure.
The M Sc (IT) curriculum consists of 3 semesters of course work followed by a one-semester M Sc project work on a specified topic.
