This program has been specially designed to meet the increasing need for professionals who would be able to respond to the convergence between computers and communication. It is meant for students who wish to build a professional career oriented towards research and development, working at the cutting edge of technology in the area of Information and Communication Technology.
This program comprises both advanced course work and research in ICT areas. The broad areas of research that can be pursued are communication systems, computer networks, VLSI and embedded systems, and machine intelligence. The curriculum includes foundation courses, specialization courses, and elective courses. At the end of the first year, students are required to take a writing course. The students are required to pursue one full year (two semesters) of research work. The curriculum is structured in a manner to allow students pursuing one specialization to take up to four elective courses from other areas of specialization.

Admission to M Tech (ICT) is open to those who qualify through GATE in the disciplines of Electronics & Communication (EC), Computer Science (CS) and Information Technology (IT) only. The short-listed candidates will be called for Counselling/Interviews at DA-IICT Campus at Gandhinagar. They will be required to furnish the valid GATE score details at the time of Counselling.
- Candidates having/appearing for the B Tech / BE degree in ICT and other allied disciplines such as, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation, IT and other allied disciplines
OR
M Sc degree in Physics, Electronics, Mathematics, Statistics or Computer Science may apply. Students with an M.Sc. degree from DA-IICT may also apply

Candidates having/appearing for MCA degree (3-year programme) may also apply. - Candidates must have 60% marks or equivalent in the qualifying degree as per the norm set by respective Institute or University in the above degree. The candidates appearing for their final year examinations of their qualifying degrees in 2012 may also apply provided they produce a provisional degree certificate or any other proof of the completion of degree certificate before 30 October 2012.
- Candidates must have a valid GATE score in the disciplines of Electronics & Communication (EC), Computer Science (CS) or Information Technology (IT).
The fact that the outgoing graduates of this program will have the opportunity of specializing on a convergence and information and communication, would make them the pick of industries and R&D establishments who work on products and services in areas like Communication Engineering, Electronic Governance, Network Management, Telecom Software, VLSI Design and Embedded Systems. The breadth of the education will give the graduates a distinctive edge over their counterparts from other conventional disciplines.

At the time of admission an amount of Rs. 30,000/- (Rs. 25,000/- towards Tuition Fee for the First Semester and Rs. 5,000/- towards Caution Deposit) is to be paid by the candidates through a Bank Draft drawn in favour of “DA-IICT", payable at Ahmedabad. Subsequently, fees are charged semester-wise, at the time of registration of each semester. The Institute reserves the right to revise the fee and payment structure.

All those admitted, Top 40 GATE scorers will be eligible for getting stipend of Rs 7500 per month in the form of Teaching Assistantship (TA)
The program requires every student to take a minimum of eight courses out of the courses available in the different specialized areas in the ICT domain and to submit a thesis based on the research work done by the student. Candidates will be required to submit online (preferably) application form by clicking on the link given below. Admission fee (non-refundable) is Rs. 1000/- for online and Rs.1100/- for offline. The candidates who submit an online admission form are required to send a demand draft of Rs. 1000/- drawn in favour “DA-IICT” and payable at Ahmedabad, to the address given below. Candidates downloading the form and sending it by post have to send a demand draft of Rs. 1100/- in favour of “DA-IICT” and payable at Ahmedabad and attach it with the application form. Candidate must write his/her name, address, contact number(s), Program name, and application number (if application form has been submitted online) on the reverse side of the bank draft.
Candidates need to indicate their research interests in the online application form. Candidates may provide more than one interests. Candidates are advised to look at profile of several research groups available at this website, for identifying the group that has closest match with their own research interests.
