DA-IICT, a UGC recognised statutory university, has announced Admission to the tenth Batch (2010 Batch) of its B Tech (ICT) program. Admission procedure for Indian Citizens is described hereunder.
Admission to the 2010 Batch of B Tech (ICT) program will be based on the All India Rank of AIEEE 2010 (All India Engineering Entrance Examination 2010), which is being conducted by CBSE on 25 April 2010. Therefore, only candidates who are appearing for AIEEE 2010 can apply for this program of DA-IICT.
The short-listed candidates, based on the All India Ranking of AIEEE 2010, will be called for counselling at Gandhinagar and will be offered admission in order of their merit (based on the All India Ranking of AIEEE 2010).
A limited number of seats will be offered through a separate channel called ‘Direct Admission of Foreign and NRI Students’ (DAFS) to Non-Resident Indians, Foreign Nationals and Persons of Indian Origin. For details on DAFS, click here or contact the International Students Cell at DA-IICT.
The intake will be 240. Out of these, fifty percent seats will be filled, on the basis of the All India Rank of AIEEE 2010, from the candidates passing their qualifying examination (ie 12th standard or equivalent) from the schools located outside the Gujarat State while the remaining fifty percent seats will be filled, on the basis of the All India Rank of AIEEE 2010, from the candidates passing their qualifying examination (ie 12th standard or equivalent) from the schools located in the Gujarat State. In addition to these 240 seats, 24 seats will be offered to Non-Resident Indians/Foreign Nationals/Persons of Indian Origin through DAFS. The Institute may change the number of seats without any notice.
Seats reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe categories are 15% and 7.5% respectively. Candidates belonging to these categories will be admitted on relaxed criteria as compared to the general category candidates. In case some of the reserved seats are not filled, the unfilled seats will be transferred to the general category.
The minimum academic qualification for admission is a pass in the 12th standard or its equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Computer Science. Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in 2010 are also eligible to apply for consideration of provisional admission. All candidates who are offered provisional admission will be required to produce the proof of having passed the qualifying examination (12th standard or equivalent) to the Institute latest by 30 October 2010, failing which such provisional admission will stand cancelled. If a candidate is found ineligible at a later date, even after admission to DA-IICT, his/her admission will be cancelled. All admissions will be subject to verification of facts from the original certificates/documents of the candidates. The decision of the concerned authorities of DA-IICT regarding eligibility of any candidate shall be final.
A list of qualifying examinations is given below:- The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognised Central/State Board of Secondary Education, including Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi.
- Intermediate Science or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognised Board/University.
- Final Examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.
- General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
- High School Certificate Examination of Cambridge University.
- Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognised by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system.
- H.S.C. Vocational Examination.
- Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.
- Three or four-year diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.
Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 01 October 1985 are eligible. Date of birth as recorded in the 10th or 12th standard certificate, as issued by the Board/University only, will be taken as authentic. Candidates must produce this certificate in original as proof of their age at the time of counselling.

At the time of counselling an amount of Rs. 40,000 (Rs. 30,000 towards Tuition Fee for the First Semester and Rs. 10,000 towards Caution Deposit) is to be paid through a Demand Draft drawn in favour of ‘DA-IICT’, payable at Ahmedabad. Subsequently, fees are charged semester-wise, at the registration of each semester. The Institute reserves the right to revise the fee and payment structure.
DA-IICT offers two categories of scholarships for B Tech students. One is based on merit and the other based on merit-cum-means. In each category, up to five students are awarded scholarships equivalent to full tuition fees. For merit scholarship, only the students having AIEEE 2010 All India Rank up to 2500 will be considered.
On the counselling day, candidates along with their parents are expected to visit DA-IICT campus, look around the infrastructure available and talk to the authorities and faculty to make a decision about their admission to DA-IICT. Counselling will include verification of the personal and academic credentials of candidates viz. identity, age, academic qualifications and category, and thereafter offer admission or provisional admission to eligible candidates as the case may be.
The counselling will be conducted at the Institute campus. Merit List and counselling procedure will be put on this website. Candidates will also be invited for counselling through individual communication. Candidates, whose names appear in the merit list put on the website, even if they have not received the invitation letter, should appear for counselling as per the notified schedule. The counselling will be held on 24th & 25th June 2010.
A candidate has to apply in the prescribed DA-IICT Application Form. A photocopy of the AIEEE 2010 Admit Card is also required to be enclosed with the completed DA-IICT Application Form and sent to the Institute in the envelope provided for the purpose. DA-IICT Application Form Number should be written on the top right corner of the photocopy of the AIEEE admit card. The prescribed DA-IICT Application Form can be availed as under:

- Alternatively, it can be obtained by sending a demand draft, of Rs. 1050 drawn in favour of “DA-IICT” and payable at Ahmedabad, to the address given at the end. Candidates must write their name and complete mailing address with phone number on the back of the demand draft. DA-IICT will not be responsible for any loss or postal delay.

The last date for receiving the completed Application Form at DA-IICT is 05 May 2010. The online submission will also be available up to 05 May 2010. Applications received after the last date will not be accepted. Incomplete application forms or forms having overwriting are liable to be rejected.
