  • Parth Mehta, our PhD student is visiting the institute of Information Science and Natural Language Processing, Universität Hildesheim for 16 weeks under Erasmus Mundus exchange program between DAIICT and Universität Hildesheim.

  • Our PhD student, Parth Mehta got a support of 800 € as a student grant for attending the annual European Conference (ECIR) on Information Retrieval and to present his work on automatic text summarization.

  • In Ingenious Hackathon organized on March 3-4, 2018 at IEEE branch of Ahmedabad University,  Aagam Mehta, Kunjal Rupala, Prahar Modi won first prize in Smart City Domain; Maitreya Patel, Raksha Rank, Anery Patel, Dhruval Suthar won 2nd prize in Machine Learning Domain; and Abhi Ratnman, Siddharth pogul, Rutvik Shah came 2nd in the Internet of Things Domain.

  • In the prestigious Tata Consultancy Services Codevita International Programming Competition held on 27th February, 2018, our BTech student, Yash Kumar,  won first prize among 1,00,000 coders from over 60 countries and received US $10,000 as award money.

  • PhD scholar Dr Vandana Ravindran has been awarded the prestigious Newton International Fellowship to pursue her postdoctoral research on "Modelling viral-host molecular interactions using control theory" at the Centre for Virus Research, University of Glasgow, Scotland. The fellowship is funded by a partnership between the Royal Society of UK and the Science and Engineering Board (SERB) of India, through Newton-Bhabha Fund.

  • PhD student, Payal Chaudhari, has earned the Best Paper Award from the 13th International Conference on Information Systems Security (ICISS) 2017, held in Mumbai during 16-20 December 2017.

  • B.Tech students Rishi Shah, Abhijit Patel, Krishanu Konar and Omkar Reddy have been selected to intern with Google under the Google Summer Code of 2017 program.

  • The Government of Gujarat conferred the "Best University in Innovation” award on DA-IICT at the National Student Start-up & Innovation Summit held on 5th October, 2017 at Ahmedabad. Prof K.S. Dasgupta, Director, DA-IICT received the award from Shri Bhupendrasinh Manubha Chudasama, Minister, Education (Primary, Secondary and Adult), Higher and Technical Education, Revenue, Parliamentary Affairs, Government of Gujarat.

  • B.Tech students Sumeet Varma, Kuldeep Patel, Yash Kumar have qualified for ACM-ICPC world finals 2017. They will be one of the 6 teams representing India this year in USA.

  • B.Tech student Omkar Damle has been shortlisted to participate in the Viterbi-India Program. The program provides opportunities to 20 students to undertake a research internship at the Viterbi School of Engineering, California, USA.

  • Prof. Saurabh Tiwari received the early career research award from Science and Engineering Research Board, Govt of India.

  • Ms Malvika Singh, a B.Tech 2014 batch student, has been selected for PennApps XV, a application development competition to be held at Penn Engineering, University of Pennsylvania during January 20 to 22nd 2017.

  • PhD student Mr. Nirmesh J. Shah has been awarded a travel grant of 1000 US dollars by IEEE Signal Processing Society to present his two papers at ICASSP 2017, New Orleans USA.The papers are in collaboration with his PhD supervisor Prof. Hemant Patil.

  • Research paper titled "Accelerated Fluid Simulation of Low Temperature Plasmas on Intel Xeon Phi MIC Architecture" authored by B.Tech (2013 batch) students Henil Shah, Anurag Gupta, Saumya Bhadani and Prof. Bhaskar Chaudhury received the Best Poster Award (SRS) at the 23rd IEEE International Conference on HPC, Data and Analytics (HiPC, 2016).

  • M.Tech student Ms. Bhavika Bathiya received best paper award at ACM WiECON-ECE 2016. The paper is based on her thesis which was guided by Prof. Sanjay Srivastava and Prof. Biswajit Mishra.

  • DA-IICT adjudged 3rd best college in India and 11th best in the world in a recent competition held on Hackerrank to determine the best universities in terms of coders.

  • B.Tech 2013 batch students Sumeet Varma and Tejasv Gupta secured 3rd and 7th position in India for the pre-final round of Google Code Jam-2016 respectively. Tejasv Gupta also secured 398 rank worldwide for the pre-final round of Google Distributed Code Jam-2016.

  • Team comprising of B.Tech (Hons in ICT with minor in Computational Science, 2013 batch) students Yashwant Keswani and Akshar Varma have secured second place in Student Parallel Programming Challenge supported by Intel and NVIDIA at 23rd International Conference on HPC, Data and Analytics (HiPC 2016).

  • Team comprising of B.Tech (Hons in ICT with minor in Computational Science, 2014 batch) students Keval Shah, Abhi Shah and Parshwa Shah have secured third place in Student Parallel Programming Challenge supported by Intel and NVIDIA at 23rd International Conference on HPC, Data and Analytics (HiPC 2016).

  • B.Tech student Nidhi Vyas form Information Retrieval Lab, DA-IICT got an offer from The Center for Language and Speech Processing, Johns Hopkins University for her BTP.

  • PhD student Sarita Agrawal has earned the 'Best Paper Award (PhD Forum Track)' from the IEEE Advanced Networks and Telecommunications Systems (ANTS) 2016.

  • DA-IICT's Music club bagged second runner-up in the Indian rock event held at BITS, Goa.

  • B.Tech students Sumeet Verma, Kuldeep Patel and Yash Kumar stood second in Hackerearth Collegiate Cup held at Banglore.

  • B.Tech students Sumeet Verma stood 3rd and Yash Kumar stood 9th in the Sears Dots and
    Arrows-Hackerrank.

  • "TCS Best Student Award" was presented to Ms. Lavanya Gupta (B.Tech 2012 batch) by Shri Anomitra Das (Regional Head HR) TCS in a function held at DA-IICT on 13th September 2016.

  • B.Tech students Tejasv Gupta and Sumeet Varma selected for the Booking.com Passions Hacked on-site Hackathon at Amsterdam, Netherlands from 14-16 October, 2016.

  • B.Tech 2015 batch students Aashay Binaykia and Labdhi Shah won the British Parliamentary Debating competition in the Novice category at GNLU Debate 2016.
