Applications are invited from highly motivated candidates with good academic records for a full-time, fixed-term Research Fellow position with the Smart Energy Learning Centre (SELC) at the Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology (DA-IICT), India. The project details, requisite qualifications, and experience are as follows.

Eligibility Requirements
Essential Qualifications
  • M.Sc. in Mathematics with at least 60% marks and with knowledge in programming
  • Or, M.Sc. in Physics with at least 60% marks and knowledge in programming
  • Or, M.E./M.Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering, ICT, Data Science, and other relevant fields with at least 60% marks.
  • Or, B.E./B.Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering, ICT, Data Science, or equivalent with at least 60% marks.
  • Knowledge in programming (Python)
  • Strong mathematical background.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Strong mathematical background.
  • Preference will be given to NET/GATE qualified candidates.
Period of Appointment: This position is temporary, with an initial appointment for one year, and it is extendable for up to one more years based on satisfactory performance. This does not confer any right for the candidate to claim an extension or absorption at DA-IICT. However, according to the available guidelines, the selected candidate will be encouraged to apply for the Ph.D. program at DA-IICT.
Job Description: Project Focus:
  • Data driven modelling and simulations
  • Gain a thorough understanding of the variables that affect carbon prices, such as market sentiment, policy changes, economic data, and technology developments.
  • To create a database from the existing open source data of carbon emission and carbon pricing.
  • Create a complex network model that depicts how these aspects are interdependent.
  • Using available data, put the model into practice and validate it.
  • Create carbon pricing index using numerical techniques.
Role and Responsibilities:
  • Develop database of carbon emission for national and international context.
  • Conduct research and develop complex networks models for quantifying the carbon emission in different countries and sectors
  • Perform other duties related to the project as assigned.

Based at the Smart Energy Learning Centre, DAU (formerly known as DA-IICT), Gandhinagar, India.
