Please give the program overview for M.Tech. (EC)

M.Tech. in EC with Specialization in Wireless Communication and Signal Processing is a full-time two-year (four semesters) program. The program has been designed jointly at DA-IICT and C.R. Rao AIMSCS in the area of wireless communication and signal processing. On successful completion of the program a student will be able to contribute to advanced wireless communication system, including 5G systems, cognitive and collaborative communication, satellite communication, signal processing, IoT and sensor networks etc.

The program aim also includes initiation and development of research projects on wireless communication and signal processing systems in collaboration with leading industry, Research and Development organization and academic institutions. The selected candidates will be required to spend the first two semesters at DA-IICT campus at Gandhinagar, where they will take the core and elective courses.

What is the total Intake for M.Tech. (EC)?

Total seats are 16 ( 12 Through GATE + 4 through Non-GATE)

How can I get admission in M.Tech. (EC)?

Admission to M.Tech. in EC with Specialization in Wireless Communication and Signal Processing will admit candidates through two channels from this year: GATE and Non-GATE.

Candidates who have a valid GATE score in the disciplines of Electronics & Communication Engineering (EC) only can apply. The ranking of candidates with GATE score of 425 or above will be on the basis of GATE score only. The candidates with GATE score less than 425 may be required to appear for an interview at DA-IICT in person/Online. Ranking of such candidates will be based on the GATE score and performance in the interview.

Non-GATE candidates selection will be based on their qualifying degree and performance in the interview.

Weightage will be as follows:
40% weightage -> qualifying degree
60% weightage-> interview

Note: At the time of finalization of admissions, it is likely that some of the Universities in the country would not have announced the final year results of the qualifying degrees prescribed for admissions. In such cases, 40% weightage in qualifying degree will be assigned to the aggregate marks obtained in all the previous University examinations of the qualifying degree. However, if the applicant fails to receive 65% aggregate marks in the qualifying degree after announcement of final year results, her/his admission will stand discontinued forthwith and no representation/appeal will be entertained..

What is the fee structure for M.Tech. (EC)?

At the time of admission an amount of Rs. 89, 500/- (Rs. 64,500/- towards Tuition Fee for the First Semester and Rs. 25,000/- towards Caution Deposit) is to paid. The registration fee is payable at the time of registration and hostel rent on allotment of the hostel room.

Is there any stipendiary benefits? If yes than am I eligible for stipend?

All GATE admitted students would be eligible for a monthly stipend of Rs. 12400/- in the form of Teaching Assistants in the first semester. In subsequent semesters, the continuation would depend on their satisfying the academic requirements.
Desirable Non-GATE admitted candidates will be considered for teaching assistantship based on the credentials.

What is the refund policy?

The refund policy for the withdrawing candidates will be in accordance with the UGC/AICTE rules.

Which GATE discipline is required for M.Tech (EC)?

What is eligibility for GATE qualified candidates?

A candidate with a qualifying degree in any one of the following:

  • BE/BTech (CS/IT, ECE, Electrical, Instrumentation), MSc (Electronics)
  • M.Sc. degree in Computer Science / Electronics / Mathematics / Physics / Statistics.
  • M.S./M.Sc. degree of DA-IICT.
  • M.C.A. degree (3 year program)

The aggregate marks in the qualifying degree should not be less than 60% or equivalent as per the norm set by the degree awarding Institute/University.

What is eligibility for Non-GATE qualified candidates?

A candidate with a qualifying degree in any one of the following

MSc (Electronics), BE/BTech (ECE)

The aggregate marks in the qualifying degree should not be less than 65% or equivalent as per the norm set by the degree awarding Institute/University.

How will be the counseling process done?

Counseling will be done online. Applicants are advised, from the date of announcement of first merit list, to check for e-mail communications from pg_admissions[at]daiict[dot]ac[dot]in to know about the specialization allotted to them and the steps they need to take to continue with the counseling process.

I am NON-GATE qualified candidate, am I eligible for any stipendiary benefits?

Desirable Non-GATE admitted candidates will be considered for teaching assistantship based on the credentials.

Is there any educational loan available?

The students can also avail loan from banks of their choice and in either of the case; the Institute will extend support in completing the loan documentation process.

Is hostel facility available in DA-IICT for the M.Tech (EC) Program?

Yes, hostel facility is available in DA-IICT, All girls admitted to the M.Tech program will be eligible for on-campus hostel accommodation., For boys, it is subject to availability.

Can I do M.Tech. (EC) in part time as currently I am working?

No, M.Tech. (WC&SP) is a full time 2 year course, you can not do the program part time.

I have valid GATE score in Electrical Engineering (EE), can I apply for M.Tech. (EC)?

No, candidates who have a valid GATE score in the disciplines of Electronics & Communication Engineering (EC) only can apply.

Can we withdraw our Application?

No.

Does hostel rooms have A.C?

No, all the rooms in the hostels are Non-A.C.

Is MCA offered by DAIICT?

No, DAIICT does not offer the MCA.

Are distance learning courses available at DAIICT?

No, at present, we do not offer any distance learning programs.

Is there any certification program available at DAIICT?

No, we don't offer any certification Program.
