What is the program structure of M.Tech. (ICT)?

M.Tech. (ICT) is a full-time two-year (four semesters) program, which focuses on a particular choice of specialization while encouraging interdisciplinary study and research. The detailed Program structure, Program core courses, Specialization core courses, and Elective courses can be found here

Which specialization tracks are on offer for M.Tech. (ICT) admission?

The following four specializations are on offer: (a) Machine Learning, (b) Software Systems, (c) VLSI & Embedded Systems and (d) Wireless Communication and Signal Processing (WCSP)

How can applicants get admission in M.Tech. (ICT) – All India Category?

Applicants can apply for admissions through one of the channels only, i.e., either through GATE or NON-GATE. For details please visit the website.

What is the intake for M.Tech. (ICT) through GATE - All India Category?

Total intake is 42 with 16 seats in Machine Learning, 13 in Software Systems, 8 in VLSI and Embedded Systems and 5 in Wireless Communication and Signal Processing through GATE.

What is the intake for M.Tech. (ICT) for NON-GATE candidates - All India Category?

Total intake is 14 where 5 seats in Machine Learning, 4 in Software systems and 3 in VLSI and Embedded Systems and 2 in Wireless Communication and Signal Processing for NON-GATE candidates.

What is the eligibility criteria for Machine Learning | Software Systems for GATE qualified candidates?

  • A candidate with a qualifying degree in any one of the following:
    • BE/BTech (CS/IT/EL, ECE, Electrical, Instrumentation)
    • M.Sc. degree in Computer Science / Electronics / Mathematics / Physics / Statistics.
    • M.S./M.Sc. degree of DA-IICT.
    • M.C.A. degree (3 year program)
  • The aggregate marks in the qualifying degree should not be less than 60% or equivalent as per the norm set by the degree awarding Institute/University.

Which amount I have to pay at the time of admission in M.Tech. (ICT)?

At the time of admission an amount of Rs. 96,000/- (Rs.71,000/- towards Tuition Fee for the First Semester and Rs. 25,000/- towards Caution Deposit) is to be paid.

What are registration fees for M.Tech. (ICT)?

Rs.2,500/- per Semester

Is Educational Loan available for the M.Tech. (ICT) program?

The students can also avail loans from banks of their choice and in either of the case; the Institute will extend support in completing the loan documentation process.

Is there any Financial Assistance for M.Tech. (ICT) students?

All GATE admitted students would be eligible for a monthly stipend of Rs. 12,400/- in the form of Teaching Assistants in the first semester. In subsequent semesters, the continuation would depend on their satisfying the academic requirements.

Desirable Non-GATE admitted candidates will be considered for teaching assistantship based on their academic credentials.

What is the refund policy for M.Tech. (ICT) program?

The refund policy for the withdrawing candidates will be in accordance with the UGC rules.

What will be the selection procedure for GATE qualified students for admissions in M.Tech. (ICT) – All India category?

For GATE qualified candidates the merit list for admission will be prepared on the basis of valid GATE score of the candidates applying for admission. Counseling for allotment of specialization will be done online.

The short-listed candidates will be offered admission (confirmed/waitlisted) in order of their merit. Counseling will be done online. Applicants are advised, from the date of announcement of first merit list, to check for a website to know about the specialization allotted to them and the steps they need to take to continue with the counseling process.

The candidates who have accepted admission offers will be asked to appear for registration, document verification and payment of fees. Subsequent to this there will be orientation for those who have been given confirmed admission.

What will be the selection procedure for NON-GATE candidates for admissions in M.Tech. (ICT) – All India category?

There will be the entrance test for Non-Gate candidates:

Exam Syllabus: The syllabus for the Non-GATE entrance test will be based on the GATE 2024 EC and CS disciplines syllabus.

  • VLSI and Embedded Systems (VLSI & ES)

I have mistakenly selected the wrong specialization in the application form. Can I change my specialization or edit my application form for All India category?

No, once the form is submitted, the candidates will not be allowed to change their choice. So, candidates are requested to carefully go through the curriculum of the individual specializations before filling their choice(s) of specialization.

Can I change my specialization after first semester?

Once the admission process is closed, at no point of time in the program will the specialization be allowed to be changed.

Can we withdraw our Application?

No. Application fees are non-refundable.

Do hostel rooms have A.C.?

No, all the rooms in the hostels are Non-A.C.

Is MCA offered by DAIICT?

No, DAIICT does not offer the MCA.

Are distance learning courses available at DAIICT?

No, at present, we do not offer any distance learning programs.

Is there any certification program available for the Post Graduate program at DAIICT?

No, at present, we do not offer any certification Program.
