About the Role:

The Manager – Placement will be responsible for driving the institution’s placement and internship outcomes through strategic corporate engagement, employer relationship management, business development, and effective execution of the placement process. The role requires a target-oriented professional who can build a strong employer network, identify new opportunities, manage key corporate accounts, and ensure successful placements and internships.

The incumbent will serve as a key interface between the institution, students, alumni, and corporate partners, while continuously strengthening the institution’s employer ecosystem and placement pipeline.

Key Responsibilities:

Placements & Internships

  • Drive the end-to-end execution of summer internship and final placements in line with institutional targets and timelines.
  • Develop and maintain a robust placement pipeline across sectors, functions, geographies, and roles relevant to student profiles.
  • Coordinate with corporate partners for job descriptions, eligibility criteria, recruitment processes, assessments, interviews, offers, and joining formalities.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve the quality, diversity, and volume of placement and internship opportunities.
  • Support the effective conversion of internship opportunities into pre-placement offers wherever applicable

Corporate Relations & Business Development

  • Develop and execute a target-oriented corporate outreach strategy to establish new employer relationships and strengthen existing partnerships.
  • Identify, acquire, and manage key corporate accounts across relevant industries and sectors.
  • Generate new placement opportunities through cold calling, lead generation, referrals, professional networks, industry databases, alumni connections, and other relevant channels.
  • Build and maintain long-term, trusted relationships with HR leaders, talent acquisition teams, business heads, and other key corporate stakeholders.
  • Develop a strong employer pipeline to ensure a consistent flow of placement and internship opportunities.

Placement Operations & Process Management

  • Ensure smooth and professional execution of recruitment drives, including pre-placement talks, assessments, interviews, selection processes, and offer management.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of corporate interactions, recruitment pipelines, offers, placements, internships, and employer engagement.
  • Ensure adherence to institutional placement policies, processes, timelines, and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate multiple recruitment processes simultaneously while ensuring a seamless experience for students and employers

Teamwork & Independent Execution

  • Operate independently with a high degree of ownership, accountability, and professional judgment.
  • Manage multiple corporate relationships, recruitment processes, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and time-management skills while working within tight recruitment timelines.
  • Support and mentor junior team members, where applicable, to improve overall corporate outreach and placement effectiveness.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

  • Master’s degree from a recognized institution in Technology, Management, Human Resource, Business Administration

Experience:

  • Typically, 8–10 years of relevant experience in campus placements, corporate relations, talent acquisition, recruitment, business development, client servicing, or institutional-industry engagement
  • Experience in a higher education institution, engineering institution, or recruitment/talent acquisition environment will be an advantage
  • Candidates with an established corporate network and demonstrated experience in achieving placement/business development targets will be preferred
