M.Sc. (Agriculture Analytics) - FAQ

What is program structure of M.Sc. (AA)?

The M.Sc. Agriculture Analytics Program follows a full time four-semester pattern and the curriculum consists of three semesters of course work followed by a one-semester project/research work on a specified topic. During summer semester, Value Added Courses (VAC) will be organized at DAIICT by the Industries. The VAC comes with certification after successful completion.

What is selection criteria for M.Sc. (AA)?

There will be three components to the process: (1) an online proctored entrance test (2) an interview and (3) Academic Credential consisting marks obtained in 10th, 12th and graduation.

Is there any management quota in M.Sc. (AA) Program?

No. Admission to M.Sc. (AA) program is completely based on merit list.

Is hostel facility available in DA-IICT for the M.Sc. (AA) Program?

All girls admitted to the M.Sc. program will be eligible for on-campus hostel accommodation., For boys, it is subject to availability. Hostels / PG accommodation will be arranged in second and third semesters at IIRS and AAU respectively.

What are the job prospects after completion of M.Sc. (AA) from DA-IICT?

After completing post graduation in Agriculture Analytics, the students are likely to be engaged as Data Analyst in various agritech startup in India (250 nos. approx.) and abroad.

Is there any scholarship facility available to M.Sc. (AA) students?

My final year result is not declared. can I apply?

Such candidates can apply. However, the final admission will be subject to meeting the announced eligibility criteria. In case the candidate fails to meet the eligibility criteria, his/her admission is liable to be cancelled.

I have no programming proficiency. Can I get admission into the M.Sc. (AA) program?

There is no test in programming. Programming will be taught in the first semester at DAIICT.

Is the M.Sc degree recognized by government institutes/organizations?

DA-IICT is included in the list of Universities maintained by the University Grants Commission under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956. Hence all the degrees awarded by DA-IICT are recognized by the Central/State Govt. and other agencies.

Can I do M.Sc. (AA) in part time?

No.

What is the refund/cancellation policy?

The refund policy for the withdrawing candidates will be in accordance with the UGC rules.

Educational Loan Available?

The students can also avail loan from banks of their choice and in either of the case; the Institute will extend support in completing the loan documentation process.

Which amount I have to pay at the time of admission in M.Sc. (AA)?

At the time of admission an amount of Rs. 1,15,000/- (Rs. 65,000/- towards Tuition Fee for the first semester, Rs. 25,000/- as Caution Deposit (refundable) and Rs. 25,000/- (per semester) as value added course fee payable to service providers) is payable. The Registration Fee is payable at the time of Registration and hostel rent on allotment of Hostel Room.

Hostel fees will be decided by IIRS and AAU in the second and third semesters.

What is caution deposit amount for M.Sc. (AA)?

Rs. 25,000 (Refundable at the end of the program)

What type of companies visit for campus placement regularly?

Agriculture Analytics is a new program. We will be attempting the agritech and agribusiness companies for internship and placement of the students in this program.

Is BCA student eligible for admission in M.Sc. (AA)?

What is entrance exam pattern?

The test will evaluate the candidates on their mathematical and science aptitude (physics, chemistry and biology) of 10th standard, and logical reasoning.

What is the selection process for M.Sc. (AA)?

There will be three components to the process: (1) an entrance test, (2) an interview and (3) academic credentials 10th, 12th and graduation marks.

The candidates are shortlisted for the interview on the basis of an entrance test.

The entrance test to be conducted at selected centers all over the country.

Interview will be held for the shortlisted candidates based on their performance in the entrance test.

What is the eligibility criteria for M.Sc. (AA)?

A Bachelor’s degree with an aggregate of 60% or its equivalent, as per the norms set by the Degree granting Institute/University in Agriculture and allied sciences, Environmental Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Computer Applications, Information Technology

OR

A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized University with an aggregate of 60% or its equivalent, as per the norms set by the Degree granting Institute/University in Computer Science, Information Technology.

Candidates appearing in their final year Degree examination and expecting to complete it by July 2024 may also apply. However, their final admission will be subject to the condition that they obtain an aggregate of 60% marks, or its equivalent as per the norms set by the degree granting institute/university.

All admitted candidates have to submit their degree certificates or proof of completion of Degree, before 30 October 2024 failing which their admission is liable to cancellation.

Professionals working in agriculture domain and satisfying the above educational qualification are also welcome to apply. Maximum age limit is 45 years as on last date of filling the application form.

The decision of the concerned authorities of DA-IICT, AAU and IIRS regarding eligibility of any candidate shall be final.

Can Final year student apply for M.Sc. (AA)?

Candidates appearing in their final year Degree examination and expecting to complete it by July 2024 may also apply. However, their final admission will be subject to the condition that they obtain an aggregate of 60% marks, or its equivalent as per the norms set by the degree granting institute/university.

Do you charge for electricity for hostel students?

Yes, apart from Hostel fees, the electricity charges will be payable

Tentative entrance exam dates for M.Sc. (AA), M.Sc. (IT) and M.Sc. (Data Science) is same. If I am applying for the courses, how will the exam be conducted?

Yes, you can apply. Entrance exam will be on same date. But time slots will be different.

Can we withdraw our Application?

No. Application fees are non-refundable.

Do hostel rooms have A.C?

No, all the rooms in the hostels are Non-A.C.

Are distance learning courses available at DAIICT?

No, at present, we do not offer any distance learning programs.

Is there any certification program available at DAIICT?

No, we don't offer any certification programs.

Is MCA offered by DAIICT?

No, DAIICT does not offer the MCA.
