What is program structure of M.Tech. (ICT)?

M.Tech. (ICT) is a full-time two-year (four semesters) program, which focuses on a particular choice of specialization while encouraging interdisciplinary study and research.

Which specialization tracks are on offer for M.Tech. (ICT) admission?

The following four specializations are on offer: (a) Machine Learning, (b) Software Systems, (c) VLSI & Embedded Systems.

What is total intake of M.Tech. (ICT)?

How can applicants get admission in M.Tech. (ICT)?

Applicants can apply for admissions through one of the channels only, i.e., either through GATE or NON-GATE.

What is the intake for M.Tech. (ICT) through GATE?

Total intake is 56 where 24 seats in Machine Learning, 20 in Software Systems, 12 in VLSI and Embedded Systems through GATE.

What is the intake for M.Tech. (ICT) for NON-GATE qualified candidates?

Total intake is 18 where 8 seats in Machine Learning, 6 in Software systems and 4 in VLSI and Embedded Systems for NON-GATE qualified candidates.

What is the eligibility criteria for Machine Learning | Software Systems for GATE qualified candidates

A candidate with a qualifying degree in any one of the following:

  • BE/BTech (CS/IT/EL, ECE, Electrical, Instrumentation)
  • M.Sc. degree in Computer Science / Electronics / Mathematics / Physics / Statistics.
  • M.S./M.Sc. degree of DA-IICT.
  • M.C.A. degree (3 year program)

The aggregate marks in the qualifying degree should not be less than 60% or equivalent as per the norm set by the degree awarding Institute/University.

What is the eligibility criteria for Machine Learning | Software Systems for NON-GATE qualified candidates?

MSc (CS), MCA, BE/BTech (CS, IT, CSE)

The aggregate marks in the qualifying degree should not be less than 65% or equivalent as per the norm set by the degree awarding Institute/University

What is the eligibility criteria for VLSI & Embedded Systems for GATE qualified students?

A candidate with a qualifying degree in any one of the following:

  • BE/BTech (CS/IT/EL, ECE, Electrical, Instrumentation), MSc (Electronics)

The aggregate marks in the qualifying degree should not be less than 60% or equivalent as per the norm set by the degree awarding Institute/University.

What is the eligibility criteria VLSI & Embedded Systems for NON-GATE qualified students?

A candidate with a qualifying degree in any one of the following:

  • MSc (Electronics), BE/BTech (ECE/EE/EL)

The aggregate marks in the qualifying degree should not be less than 65% or equivalent as per the norm set by the degree awarding Institute/University.

Which amount I have to pay at the time of admission in M.Tech. (ICT)?

At the time of admission an amount of Rs. 89, 500/- (Rs. 64, 500/- towards Tuition Fee for the First Semester and Rs. 25,000/- towards Caution Deposit) is to paid. The registration fee is payable at the time of registration and hostel rent on allotment of the hostel room.

What is registration fees for M.Tech. (ICT)?

Rs. 2,500 per Semester

Is educational loan available for the M.Tech. (ICT) program?

The students can also avail loan from banks of their choice and in either of the case; the Institute will extend support in completing the loan documentation process.

Is there any stipendary benefits for M.Tech. (ICT) students?

All GATE admitted students would be eligible for a monthly stipend of Rs. 12400/- in the form of Teaching Assistants in the first semester. In subsequent semesters, the continuation would depend on their satisfying the academic requirements.

Desirable Non-GATE admitted candidates will be considered for teaching assistantship based on the credentials.

What is the refund policy for M.Tech. (ICT) program?

The refund policy for the withdrawing candidates will be in accordance with the UGC/AICTE rules.

How will be the selection procedure for GATE qualified students for admissions in M.Tech. (ICT)?

Candidates who have a valid GATE score in the disciplines of Electronics & Communication Engineering (EC), Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Science and Information Technology (CS), only can apply. The ranking of candidates with GATE score of 425 or above will be on the basis of GATE score only. The candidates with GATE score less than 425 may be required to appear for an interview at DA-IICT in person. Ranking of such candidates will be based on the GATE score and performance in the interview.

How will be the selection procedure for NON-GATE qualified students for admissions in M.Tech. (ICT)?

Non-GATE candidates selection will be based on their qualifying degree and performance in the interview.

Weightage will be as follows:

40% weightage -> qualifying degree

60% weightage-> interview

I have mistakenly selected wrong specialiazation in application form,Can I change my specialiazation or edit my application form?

No, once the form is submitted, the candidates will not be allowed to change their choice. So, candidates are requested to carefully go through the curriculum of the individual specializations before filling their choice(s) of specialization.

Can I change my specialiazation after first semester?

Once the admission process is closed, at no point of time in the program will the specialization be allowed to change.

How many seats are available in Machine learning?

I have completed my bachelor degree in EC, in which specialization I am eligible to get admission for M.Tech. (ICT)?

Machine Learning and software system through Gate and VLSI and Embedded Systems through GATE and Non-GATE.

Can we withdraw our Application?

No.

Does hostel rooms have A.C?

No, all the rooms in the hostels are Non-A.C.

Is MCA offered by DAIICT?

No, DAIICT does not offer the MCA.

Are distance learning courses available at DAIICT?

No, at present, we do not offer any distance learning programs.

Is Commerce degree eligible for M.Tech. (ICT)?

No, commerce degree holders are not eligible for M.Tech. (ICT).

Is there any certification program available at DAIICT?

No, we don't offer any certification Program.
